Dear colleagues,

The FirEUrisk project is a research initiative aimed at improving the understanding and management of wildfire risks in Europe, funded by the European Commission’s H2020 framework program (GA No.101003890).

As part of this project, in the context of Task 2.3.3, (led by Sebastien Lahaye from SAFE Cluster) which is focused on developing a curriculum for fire fighters to fight extreme fires and fires in the Wildland Urban Interface, we aim to screen the fire suppression strategies implemented in European countries through online questionnaire. The results of this survey will later serve as one of the bases for developing the curriculum.

In this survey, we will collect information on initial attacks, fires in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI), and extreme fires.

You are invited to take part in this research activity doe to your experiences in fighting fires directly in the field. You will only take part once. The questionnaire will last less than 10 minutes.

The information you provide will be kept securely by SAFE Cluster. The data will be stored without identifying information, and it will not be possible to identify contributors from project outputs. We assure you that all responses will be kept confidential and will only be used for research purposes.

If you have any questions regarding this questionnaire or if you want to exercise your rights related to data protection or withdraw your participation, please feel free to contact Kiki Yunianti as the researcher at kiki.yunianti@safecluster.com .

Thank you for taking the time to participate in this questionnaire. Your contribution will be invaluable in advancing our understanding and management of wildfire risks in Europe.
